Sonic is probably the reason that Sega was able to kickstart their efforts in the 16-Bit market. Sadly, this era was the only one that Sega had a snowball’s chance in hell of being #1 in gaming. That success, or hopes of reaching it, was thanks in no small part to their little blue speedy mascot, Sonic. The fandom of Sonic knows no bounds as fans across the world have created, or are creating, fan games based on the little blue speed demon.

One such group has recently announced that their project, Sonic 2 HD, is back from the dead and being worked on again. Back in March, Sonic 2 HD was ended rather abruptly. Now that the remake is back on, get ready for more updates on this game as it nears completion. This is just one of many Sonic fan games in development, if reader response is high for these, we will definitely work on more articles covering them.
