Here at RGM, we are not afraid of discussing hacks and the like, especially those involving the Big N’s main man. What is cool about this new announcement is, Nintendo has taken it upon themselves to let gamers creat classic Mario levels on their own. At least those gamers that own a Nintendo Wii U that is. The levels are very reminiscent of Super Mario Bros 1, think the version in Super Mario All-Stars on Super Nintendo as far as graphics go and you will be pretty close to what Mario Maker has in store.

Mario Maker is capable of making levels that will surely draw in even the most jaded Mario gamer. What is even better, once you build a level, you can then play it. Nintendo isn’t done though, with a simple click you can switch to the New Super Mario Bros graphics set, on the fly. That is pretty sweet. This is why Nintendo rocks.

The only way this could be cooler is if Nintendo allows sharing of levels on-line.  That would be quite cool of them.

Mario Maker is slated for a 2015 release so get that graph paper out and work on some new level ideas while you wait.
