Dark and morbid side scrolling action adventure titles are a rarity. Factor in those that are created by a 16 year old developer based in South Africa and you have something interesting to say the least. The story of Montez is a story of survival, a battle for life and the struggle against death. Remember that “dark and morbid” comment in the beginning of this article? Montez has it in spades.

Seriously, if you are a fan of 2D side scrolling action games you need to throw some support at Montez over on Steam. These types of games don’t come along all that often and when they do, we need to support them otherwise we will keep getting yet another first person shooter set in some war torn country.
