Game Hack: Atari Man II Created from Retro Mega Man II on Nintendo Entertainment System

Mega Man is, and probably always will be, one of Capcom’s retro flagship titles. Just like any other character that is a part time mascot, Mega Man is touted whenever it is good for the company. Way back on the NES gamers enjoyed the second adventure of this little android in his plight against Dr. Wily. Now, fans have hacked that adventure and created something more akin to the Atari 2600 graphical style called Atari Man II.

There is not a lot outside of the graphics changed on this one. Though that is not much of a problem, this is a game hack after all- not a total conversion. The interesting things you can expect in this hack are how the graphics have been lowered in resolution to appear more in line with what you might expect a more powerful Atari 2600 game to look like (something between the Atari 2600 and the Atari 5200 so to speak).

Check the pics out and then head over to to grab the patch. Since Capcom has not released Mega Man II as freeware, we cannot link directly to the ROM file needed for this hack.
