R.B.I. Baseball, the Tengen classic digital version of America’s favorite past time, has returned to gaming after a two decade plus hiatus. Hitting Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Android and iOS (no word on a Windows Phone or PC version) R.B.I. Baseball 14 is designed to be a fast playing game, not so much a number crunching simulation of the game.
For those that do not know, the original R.B.I. Baseball was the first video game to be licensed by the MLB and the first to license the names of the players (Baseball on NES didn’t have either). The graphics, of course, will vary depending on the platform you are playing on but look at the Xbox 360 pics in this article for an idea of the look.
R.B.I. Baseball 14 will probably satisfy your inner “arcade” baseball fan (yes, there were several arcade baseball games in the past). While the players are based on the stats of their real life counter parts, the play is decidedly action based with a full nine inning game easily completed in under 30 minutes.
