Rick Dangerous, a Core Design original property for computers in the late 80’s, is getting an unofficial port to the Super Nintendo system. Rick Dangerous is known for his difficult spelunking antics and could be thought of as the precurser to the Tomb Raider series. Having reached many other platforms including Sega Genesis and the Game Boy Advance, both unofficial ports, Rick Dangerous is currently preparing for his first SNES outing.
Rick Dangerous has hit other platforms, not just the two aforementioned ones, including the Saturn and Dreamcast (admittedly a lot of Sega love going on here). This version of Rick Dangerous is expected to be released on physical cartridge according to developer Alekmaul who is partnering with Piko Interactive on this front.
Rick Dangerous is an action game with light platforming and some adventure elements. Gameplay is 2D, side scrolling and involves avoiding/eliminating enemies for items.
Currently there is no concrete release date for Rick Dangerous on the SNES.
