Tech Demo: Day of the Tentacle Running on Sega Genesis

While not complete by any means, this tech demo of the LucasArts classic, Day of the Tentacle, running on the Sega Genesis is impressive. Work is continuing tentatively at the moment.

LucasArts games are a rare commodity in the console gaming world since only one such game ever got ported to a Sega platform (or any for that matter, right?) from the computer world. The Secret of Monkey Island brought with it great expectactions from gamers that we would see more LucasArts classics but that never happened.

Thanks to an ingunuitive indie developer, Day of the Tentacle may be the second such LucasArts title ported to a Sega platform (not counting engine ports on the Dreamcast). So far, this tech demo is limited to part of the introduction and some of the first area- it is a tech demo after all. It shows what can eventually happen and that is a pretty faithful version of the classic adventure title.
