Android and iOS are not new to getting retro scrolling shooter re-releases. Titles such as Ikaruga, Espgaluda and the Raiden series have all made the jump to touch screen devices. Now, Gunbird 2, can be added to the growing list of retro shooters gamers can now enjoy on the go.Gunbird 2 originally hit the arcades in 1998 then saw a home release on the Sega Dreamcast in 2000. Gamers will probably remember the great sprite art work full of pixels (we miss them both, badly). These retro scrolling shooters are better suited for touch devices, much more so than, say, an action game like Mario or Sonic (though Sega has made an admirable transition with their mascot).
Be warned, GunBird 2 will require a KakaoTalk account before you can play and there are in-app purchases here.
