It is a retro gaming age old question, okay, as far back as the SNES vs. Genesis argument. Which is better, the Streets of Rage series or the Final Fight series? Thanks to some ingenuitive game hackers, gamers can now at least check out how Cody from Final Fight would fare in the Streets of Rage 2 universe. Sorry, no word on if Haggar or Guy were lost in transit or what.
The only thing changed here is the fact that Cody (SNES and CPS/Arcade) has made the jump to kick some syndicate butt. So for one small bit of the question, we can find out if Cody can stand up to the enemies populating the streets in Streets of Rage 2. These types of hacks remind me of the time that Electronic Gaming Monthly pulled an April’s Fool joke on everyone in one of their old issues. They inserted Simon Belmont into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game on NES. This joke was so cool because both games were released by Konami so it fit and it was a time of wild codes and crossovers in games. Man they got us all on that one.
Now, who else has jumped ship and taken on the Syndicate. Any guesses?
Streets of Rage 2 is not freeware so we cannot link directly to it but the hack is so grab it at ROMHacking.net
