When Comix Zone hit the Sega Genesis in 1995, it was beyond different but still familiar at the same time. This is an action/platformer/brawler title which was pretty popular back in the day, just not in 1995. Sega missed the boat on the release of this title and sales suffered but still, this is an iconic title that is presented in a manner that has not been used since then, sadly.
You take control of a “starving artist” who is creating a new comic, conveniently titled “Comix Zone”. A thunderstorm hits one night as Sketch, the artist, is working, burning the midnight oil and well, somehow he ends up in his comic book. There is a major bad guy to deal with and a potential love interest involved and a lot of comic panels to battle through before you see the ending (one of two possible).
The cool thing about this game is that it is now available in Spanish thanks to fans. Everything is translated from cut scene text to the in game text that appears in speech bubbles (remember, this is a comic).
