That Atari 2600 is not the only home console to receive a version of the BASIC programming language, Batari Basic, now the Sega Genesis has something similar. BasiEgaXorz is the begginners programming language for the Genesis that will allow would be game designers to create cartridge, Sega CD titles and even 32X games.
While BasiEgaXorz is not a perfect language for creating games, it is better than nothing. There are a lot of definitions, programming words and the like on the BasiEgaXorz website and I am not going to insult your intelligene by trying to sound like I even know what the most simple of them means. Check out BasiEgaXorz and the tutorials that are available, especially if you are a programming buff, this looks pretty interesting.
Now, where are the games?

[…] BasiEgaXorz is the programming language that is bringing Papi Commando to life. It still remains to be seen just how well the Sega Genesis version will look. […]
Awesome! I am already good at making my own games in QBASIC. I used to be a member of a website called The QBASIC Station which allowed you to upload your own QBASIC games and demos, etc. and download QBASIC programs designed by other users. I tried BasiEgaXorz and have made a bit of progress making simple programs with colors, text, and ASCII characters and converting them into .BIN files that can be loaded on a Sega Genesis emulator. I hope to learn more about it. Cool article! Maybe someday I will make my own website with my QBASIC creations and hopefully BasiEgaXorz ones as well. ^_^
