While this is nothing new, it is still quite impressive to see Star Fox running on the Sega Genesis, without additional hardware to assist with calculations. This being done by a fan is even more impressive and just boggles the mind at what could have been done by people with official dev kits, more experience and cash driving them. Sega dropped the ball pretty hard on that one.
Sure, gamers could muddle through with Silpheed on Sega CD but that was a very expensive proposition once you factored in the cost of the hardware. This tech demo proves that Sega could have created an answer to Star Fox on regular, cartridge loading, Genesis hardware.
As you can see in the tech demo, collision detection is not implemented yet and there are other things missing. That is why this is a tech demo. I am posting this to bring additional attention to the effort, and limited success, for what the dev has done here.
