It seems that independent developers simple will not let old systems die, thankfully. Psycatic is one of those independent developers that is keeping the candle burning for Sega’s dead hardware. Previously releasing a title called The First Invasion which was a Space Invaders style game for the Genesis, now Psycatic is working on a Story of Thor/Beyond Oasis style action dungeon crawler for the Genesis and Sega CD.

Currently there are no pics available, no real details other than a story on their website. The Shifting Catacombs is planned to release in December of 2014. An HD release is already planned for 2015 for PC’s (Linux, Mac and Windows platforms) and possibly on mobile platforms (no word on Dreamcast unlike other projects like Piers Solar HD).
