Flappy Bird may have been pulled from the various app stores out there but that has not stopped the clones from appearing. So far, the Atari 2600 has received a clone and now, the Vectrex has received a Flappy Bird clone called Veccy Bird.
Developer, mikiex, has taken the formula for Flappy Bird and has tweaked it a bit, graphically, to work on the Vectrex system. If you are not familiar with Flappy Bird, it is pretty simple. Tap the action button to keep your bird flapping their wings and climbing up the screen, not tapping the button lets them fall. That is it.
Well not really, there is the little problem called pipes coming at you. These pipes come in from the top and the bottom of the screen leaving a small window of space to slip through. This is where the challenge of Flappy Bird lies, and by relation, Veccy Bird.
Grab Veccy Bird while you can even though it is doubtful that mikiex will pull the game anytime soon. Thanks to RetroVideoGamer.co.uk for the heads up.
