Retro gamers are pretty well taken care of in the iOS and Android market and Dotemu has made one more classic available, R-Type II. Dotemu cover most of the bases with various games so adding this classic is icing on the cake.

Dating back to 1989, R-Type II features the original, kick your teeth in, difficulty while also offering a much easier mode for those that are not quite up to the challenge of 1989 games. Support for external controllers, auto fire capabilities and leaderboards that cover the globe.

What are some of your favorite scrolling shooters?  Personally, I am partial to the Thunder Force series (V being my fave on import Saturn).
