Fan translations are not new but the games that are getting translated are, at least to people that didn’t speak the original language. Here we have Y’s V: Kefin, Lost Kingdom of Sand on the Super Nintendo/Super Famicom (depending on your geographic location). Up till now, Y’s V was a Japan exclusive from 1995 but fans of the series couldn’t let that stand.
Y’s V was a complete reworking of the series, a return to its roots so to speak. Unlike the last title that we got in the states, Y’s III, this one is not a side scrolling adventure but an overhead action title. Similar to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Y’s V is an action RPG.
The translation was handled by Aeon Genesis, translation veterans, and the patch is available on their site.
