Sega Genesis Classics Hitting the U.K. Nintendo eShop

Sega is one of those companies that is willing to keep their classics alive and available on newer hardware, while most gamers wish they would re-release certain classics that don’t get very much love.  Coming this week are some classic Genesis titles that are hitting the United Kingdom’s Nintendo eShop for gamers to enjoy.

First up, 3D Altered Beast, the classic arcade action title that was the official first (and pack-in) title released in North America.  Taking on the evil being known as Neff proved slightly too much for Zeus who summons you to do his dirty work and bring back Athena.  Shape shifting action awaits those willing to accept the challenge.

Second, UK gamers can enjoy the classic 3D Sonic the Hedgehog.  This is believed by many to be the point in which Sega officially started taking the 16-Bit console wars to Nintendo and their Super Nintendo.  Controlling the little blue fur ball in his adventure to save the other, less capable of defending themselves, fur balls on the planet from the evil Dr. Eggman (Dr. Robotnik in many North American released Sonic titles (though he is Dr. Eggman in the cartoon- go figure).
