Toejam and Earl 3 eventually hit the Xbox platform but how many know it was originally to be a Sega Dreamcast game? There was a prototype found recently which shows off quite different gameplay than what the Xbox version contained.

Sega tried to relaunch some of their best IPs on the Dreamcast, we got Sonic re-invented but not much else. At least not much else in official form, there are prototypes popping up that are games that retro gamers would have identified with quite well. Such as this one, Toejam and Earl 3. The gameplay was apparently reminiscent of the first game way back on the Sega Genesis, just in 3D form (much like Sonic Adventure).

No word on this prototype making it to the public.
