Blizzard are showing some cool love for retro gamers by recently adding their Super Nintendo classic, Blackthorne, to Battle.net for free.  This is possibly the first of many titles that could hit the free gaming service in the future and is an awesome release for retro fans.

To access the free Blackthorne game simply head over to Battle.net, click on Game Client Downloads on the bottom of the screen then scroll to the bottom of the new page and you will see Blackthorne listed.  It is free, only requiring a free Battle.net account to access it.  

For those that do not know, Blackthorne is a 2D side scrolling action adventure title that is similar to Contra but with less shooting and more cerebral work involved.  This is not an action game for the feint of heart as it can get pretty dark, though nothing as bad as what is being released today.

Considering it is in a section alone, Classic Games, it begs the question as to what could possibly be added later?  Any guesses/wishes?
